Lefa la LRC – Growing the Legacy is a programme which seeks to reconnect the alumni and friends of the LRC nationally and internationally and pays tribute to the many organisations and people who have who have been a part of the LRC from its inception in 1979 to date. Tonight's launch will be marked by an exhibition of the LRC's major work in Cape Town dating back to 1983 when the office was opened. Jazz band Ramon Alexander will provide entertainment. The event is an opportunity for the LRC to say thank you and invite you to partner with us to realise the promise of our Constitution for the just, stable and humane society we all seek. The LRC is grateful to the Law Faculty at UCT for providing the venue for tonight's launch. The Faculty, the UCT Law Clinic and the Law Race and Gender Project have a proud history of partnership with the LRC through joint research and conferences and in close collaboration in constitutional advocacy and litigation. Many past and present lawyers of the LRC are graduates of the UCT Law Faculty. This is the third Lefa la LRC – Growing the Legacy launch in 2011.
