PRESS CONFERENCE ON: STATEMENT FROM CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS ON RESOLVING THE HUMANITARIAN CRISIS AT THE CENTRAL METHODIST MISSION, JOHANNESBURG Date: 8 December 2009 The Legal Resources Centre (LRC), AIDS Law Project (ALP) and a broad grouping of local and international civil society organisations have issued a statement expressing their concerns regarding the humanitarian crisis that faces homeless people, particularly Zimbabwean migrants, who are seeking shelter at the Central Methodist Mission (CMM) in downtown Johannesburg. The press conference will be addressed by representatives of the people living at CMM and Mark Heywood from the AIDS Law Project. The joint civil society statement will be released at this press conference. |
