In 2006 this project was initiated by the Southern Africa Legal Services Foundation (SALS) and funded by Atlantic Philanthropies. The collection of digital audio recordings and transcripts consists of 200 interviews conducted from 2006 to 2009. Interviewees include Justice Arthur Chaskalson, Geoff Budlender, Sir Sidney Kentridge and Archbishop Desmond Mpilo Tutu. Interviewers include journalist Ms Hunter-Gault and Dr. Patel, an oral historian. The content of the interviews reflects the history of the development of the LRC and the cases and causes that were involved.
